  • What is an Email Alias or Email Forwarding?

An Email Alias or Forwarding is an email address using your domain ( @your_domain.com ) that sends or 'forwards' emails to another designated address. In otherwords you create a Forwarding address (not an actual email account) and tell it to send email using that address to another pre-existing address. (e.g., sales@your_domain.com will go to my whatever@aol.com)

  • How do I configure my email application to send and receive emails from my domain?

You received information in your Startup Welcome email when you first signed up for services. You can receive a copy of that email by logging into our Online Customer Support system at:
    http://www.bookfella.com/customers/aLogIn.php

You will need to configure your Incoming Mail server or POP3 server and your Outgoing Mail server or SMTP server. For your Outgoing Mail server we recommend you use your ISP or Internet Connection Providers SMTP server configuration. The reason for this is that many ISP's are now blocking SMTP server communications other than their own in an attempt to diminish SPAM and Security Breaches. (In our opinion this is not a good solution but we have no power over these ISP's to persude them otherwise) NOTE: To use your domain for Outgoing SMTP email you need to refer to the Startup Welcome email you received when you first signed up for hosting. If you have trouble using your domain SMTP server then it is likely your ISP is blocking that protocol. Some ISP's will allow you to request to open the SMTP port (standard Port 25) for your account, otherwise you will be forced to use your ISP's SMTP server for outgoing mail.

These are most of the known ISP's that are currently blocking the SMTP protocol:
